How to bring Mindfulness to your children in the classroom

The teacher’s role has become increasingly complex

Through your experience as an educator and as a mindfulness practitioner, you probably know that teaching with the heart is valuable for your kids.
But this is not easy when you work under pressure. Extracurricular activities and evening preparation are more part of the job than exception. Educators these days sometimes also perform as therapists, social workers, fundraisers…
The stress of high demands can be waring and there is not always enough support.
    • Do you long to connect again to the essence of your work?
    • Are you feeling the importance of supporting your well-being better?
    • Do you want methods to teach these skills to your students too?

I have a present for you

    • 4 free online practices and teachings
    • Simple yet powerful exercises
    • Focusing on emotional and body regulation
    • Helping students to grow into more well-rounded individuals
    • And nourishing your own well-being as an educator

The exercises in the next weeks are free

The more teachers to apply this, the merrier for me ☺
You are welcome to invite other people for who you think this can be interesting. So, if you know any colleagues, fellow teachers, student teachers, friends or family members in the educational system, feel free to send them an invitation to join.

About me

Are you a teacher or educator, in the educational system, interested in bringing mindfulness to the students in your classroom?
If so, I can help.
My name is Kate.

Mindfulness practice has been at the core of my life since 2004. Because of the benefits I felt through my own experience, I started to look for places to bring this to other people.
In the last 10 years, I have guided over 2500 professionals in teachings mindful awareness and compassion to kids. I have had the privilege of teaching over 2000 K-12 students myself.
I really love doing this, knowing it has a massive impact on the lives of kids as well as on the lives of teachers.
I love meditation, and I love what it reveals. The human experience to me is fascinating, when things are going great or when things are going not so great. Seeing this and guiding others through this, is part of the passion of sharing mindfulness with others.
I am happily married to my partner and we have a preschool son who is amazing. He is all over the place ;-) Mindfulness helps me being a better teacher, connected partner and more patient parent.
I am also a Buddhist meditation teacher in the San Francisco Bay Area and a proud part of the Teachers Council at Spirit Rock Meditation Center.
I started teaching mindfulness in the Oakland schools in 2008 for Mindful Schools.  Soon after, I became the Director of Training and developed mindfulness training programs for educators, parents, psychologists, and health care providers. In 2012, I started Heart-Mind Education to continue developing my work in the classrooms as well as direct training to faculties. The culmination of years of work in mindfulness education has led to this current project, Now! Children.
Now! Children was born out of a partnership with SeeTrue, a Netherland's based mindfulness training company, in a united effort to make the curriculum and training more accessible to teachers around the globe.

I love to ad the elements of play and nurturing creativity along the way.

There is a joyfulness in this work.
There can be a play between that joy, and that grounded stillness that sometimes come in with mindfulness practice.
Those two can go together really nicely.
This does not have to be quite so serious.
Especially in terms of teaching it; This is something we are doing with children,
But I think the benefits also go for the adults.
You benefit from playing with your own experience,
Feeling curious and interested in a way that a child may be curious and interested in something they see on the ground. If they want to explore something through play and creativity.
Mindfulness, and what we experience internally, can be explored in the same way, as adults.
And that makes it much more interesting
